Available courses
Beginner's course
The beginners course takes two years to complete. We have two year-long programmes that alternate each other every year: A-B-A-B-etc. The two beginner groups run in parallel and follow the same programme. Should you not be able to make it to your own class on occasion, then you can catch up with the other group. On Monday, the course is held fully in English and on Wednesday the course is taught in Dutch.
Advanced course
After you have completed the beginner's course, you can continue with the advanced course. In these classes you will be taught longer and more difficult dances and you will finesse the moves you learned in the first two years. The advanced class is currently only taught in Dutch.
T&T - Theatre and Technique course
The T&T course is accessible for everyone from year 2 and up. In these classes, you will focus on the (higher) techniques and more theatrical aspects of court dancing as well as its history. As such, you will not be learning the choreographies themselves, but rather how to give a truely stand-out performance.
This is an additional course that you register for on top of your regular classes. You cannot take it as a stand-alone course.
First-years cannot enroll in this course.
T&T has an entirely new curriculum this year! Curious? Click the button and check it out in advance!
What do you need?
For new members and beginners
You don't need any fancy clothes or special shoes to start court dancing, nor do you need a partner or any prior experience. You don't even need a Radboud Sports and Culture card or RU Fit card to join us. You get to dance with different partners every time and all the dances are taught from start to finish. We don't wear our costumes during classes: we reserve those for demonstrations and workshops.
For the advanced and T&T courses
For this course, decent court dancing shoes are mandatory. They don't need to be anything special or expensive, but they do need to meet certain standards. Read the flyer below to learn what those are.
