Trial lessons

Are you considering court dancing as a new hobby/sport?  Sign up for a free trial lesson (or two)! That way you can try it out and see if it suits you. During this class you can join in the dancing, watch demonstrations of choreographies to come and get to know your future fellow members. This is also a brilliant opportunity to ask our dance instructors or board members any questions you may have.

All you have to do to book a trial lesson, is to send an e-mail to info@hofdansen.nl and we will plan a suitable moment together with you.

Address: classes are held at the HAN, Kapittelweg 33 in Nijmegen. We dance in room D001.

(No) requirements

You do not need a Radboud Sports and Culture card or RU Fit card to join our trials or weekly classes. You also don’t need a dance partner or any previous experience dancing.

Ladies and gentlemen, leads and follows

Court dancing is a partner dance sport, similar to ballroom dancing in that regard. At LPR, you get to choose for yourself whether you want to dance as a lead or a follow. During our classes we label these roles gentlemen and ladies respectively, to enhance the historical experience our sport brings. Who dances what part is irrelevant: it’s really only meant as a technical term.

Association

If you choose to come dance with us, you will be signing up as a member of our association (dance club). Instead of a course fee, you will be paying a yearly contribution, aka: a membership fee. Through your contribution we offer a lot more than dance classes: there a committees to join, activities to participate in and even the occasional performance to give. You are never obligated to join in on any of these extra activities – if your sole aim is to attend dance class, that is absolutely ok.
