Every week Court Dancing Group Les Précieuses Ridicules meets up to learn unique historical dances. If you’re not sure court dancing is your thing, you can send a message for a free trial lesson.
Our free trial lessons this year are on Wednesday 14th and 21st September, both from 20.00 to 22.00 in classroom 00.09 of the Spinozagebouw on the RU campus. During the lesson we will have a short break.
The contents of the trial lessons will (partly) vary, so it’s definitely interesting – but not neccesary – to come both weeks. During these lessons you will meet our group, the different styles we dance in and our costumes. If you would like to, you can even wear one of our hoopskirts!
Signing up for the trial lessons can be done via email (les.precieuses.ridicules@gmail.com). This is not strictly neccesary, but it would be nice, so we know how much cake to bring ;)
All the best and we hope to see you soon!
We start at 20.00 and end at 22.00 on Wednesdays. Our rehearsal space is in classroom 00.09 in the Spinozagebouw on the campus of the Radboud University.
At the beginning of the schoolyear we have free trial lessons that anyone can attend, no strings attached.
Only found out in the middle of the year that you want to get into court dancing? Send us a message so we know to welcome you!
Previous experience in dancing, a dance partner, or special clothing or shoes are not neccesary to take part in the lessons. We dance with varying partners, and all dances are taught from the beginning. During the lessons, we don’t wear costumes: we only use those for performances and workshops.
Some weeks the lessons may get cancelled, but members will be informed of this in a timely manner.
